Is Executive IT Architect with IBM team in Dubai, UAE, where he is the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Lead Cloud Advisor, driving IBM’s Cloud strategies.
Hamid is old-hands in Cloud technologies, where his passion for the Cloud started in the early 2008 with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and, as a hobbyist programmer, dabbled with Heroku and Digital Ocean along the way. He’s also active on the speakers’ circle, where he talks about the Cloud and the immense opportunity it opened for the developers’ community in the era of “Software-is-eating-the-World” and “Disruption-is-the-New-Normal”.
In addition, Hamid’s technical interests include Open Source, Mobile Computing, and Complex Systems Integration.
With more than 25 years of experience in the IT Industry, Hamid career started in “IBM Toronto Lab” as a software developer, designer, project manager, and product development manager. Then, as an IT Architect with IBM Global Services, he worked as trusted advisor to several IBM Fortune 500 clients, after which he moved to IBM Middle East in Dubai as the Regional Manager of Software Technical Sales and Services, where he founded IBM’s Middle East technical community.
He is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, founder of the IBM Middle East Academy Affiliate (MEP-TEC), an IBM Senior Certified Architect, and the Open Group Distinguished Chief IT Architect.
Hamid has a Master Degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada.
